A Big Sur Dude
Big Sur, the rugged stretch of California’s central coast between Carmel and San Simeon, is my absolute favorite place to camp and explore. It is the only place on the west coast where one single highway separates you from soaking up some rays at the beach and hiking through a redwood forest.
Friday: Setup Camp + Pfeiffer Beach
Saturday: Bixby Bridge + Pfeiffer Falls
Sunday: McWay Falls + Rain Rocks Rock Shed + Elephant Seals beach
Suh Dudes!
Shade for days
This camping experience was much different from my first trip. Our camp mom, Linn, went above and beyond to show us the true meaning of Glamping. She booked a spot that included private bathrooms with hot showers and prepped all of our meals before hand.
Korean short ribs for lunch
Pfieffer Beach has always been on my shooting bucket list. It is known for a ginormous rock formation with a perfectly centered key whole . I've always envisioned shooting the rock during sunset when the beams of light shine through the key hole, but my dreams were ruined due to mother nature. She commanded 30mph winds that blew sand everywhere, and decided to bring in clouds to block all hopes of sunlight. However, we were all resilient and made the best of the situation!
I had to seek shelter behind some rocks to get a decent shot
Dare to enter?

No sun in sight =(
At least, we still had LOVE.
Day 2 morning view
This is Bixby Bridge, the longest concrete arch span at 320ft on the California State Highway System. It is one of the tallest single-span concrete bridges in the world and one of the most photographed bridges along the Pacific Coast due to it's aesthetic design and location.
When Earth meets water
Perspective
The best part about Big Sur is that your drive up the coast looks like this majority of the way!
Wind was not our friend again, but I love how the wind made Belinda's hair into a contemporary masterpiece
Pfeiffer Falls is the perfect hiking destination for beginners. It's a shaded 2 mile round trip trail with a quarter mile of stairmaster like incline.
Hello deer
Album will be dropping soon
The perfect place to grab a bite
Drake like vibes
All by ourselves
My first time playing the best board game, Blokus, with these veterans and I didn't get last place!
McWay Falls is one of two in the region that fall directly into the ocean (during hightide), the other being Alamere Falls.
Next trip goal: To make my way onto that rock like this dude.
Is this why we are in a drought?
Her thirst was real
Rain Rocks Rock Shed was built by Caltrans and Golden Gate Bridge contractors in 2014 to protect this part of the road from rock slides and debris. This structure is beautiful inside and out. I was so captivated that I totally forgot to snap a pic when driving through.... I shall return!
Most of the year, elephant seals swim thousands of miles in their quest for food, but during this time of the year, female and juvenile elephant seals come ashore to molt.
It's been real Big Sur. Till we meet again. 1
